Default automatic to manual swap?

Hello all,

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy 4dr 4x4 4.3L. I just inherited the truck and I am not a huge fan of the automatic transmission. I was just wondering if anybody has every heard of or considered swapping a 5 speed manual into something like this. I am quite mechanically skilled and have access to a lot of fabrication tools and equipment, however, if this is going to be a huge hassle than I may reconsider.

Any pictures of the pedal box and shifter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think the computer would throw codes at you, you'd need the computer off a 4.3 with a manual, just because the engine/transmission consistently "look for each other." Then you'll need the center console... etc... PITA

Nah, it wasn't hard at all. Take a look at this thread and see if it answers your questions.
