Default CEL comes on for EGR

Hi I'm new here and purchased my blazer about a month ago and I'm loving it. Issue I'm having is after about 10 minutes of highway driving and the CEL comes on but driving is not affected. I had it scanned and its the EGR. My CAT rattles around this time as well could the cat guts breaking down be causing a back pressure issue for the EGR valve?

+1, and if your cat is rattling it could be on its last leg.

Cool thanks for the info! I was unaware that you could clean the egr. And as for the cat it might be time to put it out to pasture and replace it or old school straight pipe it. Not sure which route I want to take.
