Flywheel to torque converter problem

did you measure your cylinders and bores? did you check ring gap?

I did not but would that make them bind?

it can, and it can ruin the rings. Did you install new rings?I f you didn't, then you somehow got pistons mixed up, which means now's the time to put new rings, were the cylinders honed? Be sure to gap rings relative to each cylinder they will go into. The ring manufacturer should have specs to use for that.

UPDATE: The bearings were oversized. Autozone since made it right with a $60.00 credit, case of wrong part right box....
