Maybe fan clutch is stuck as said before, on my 94 when i put a short ram intake on it there was a loud air rushing noise when it got into the higher rpms. The stock air box muffles that noise. Make sure it's all on securly. The piece on the throttle body likes to not seat correctly sometimes, double check that. If there is an autozone or advanced auto parts near you they run codes for free.
