Default Sea foam

HI,I am running some sea foam thru fuel system and it was suggested to leave old filter in fuel line to catch any garbage in fuel system before putting on new filter.
I am also thinking about using a bottle to catch what might be in fuel lines
by cycling fuel pump to get anything that might just before new fuel filter
any thoughts on this would be appreciated, thanks

I've used Sea Foam in really nasty systems. It will clean things out pretty well. The only thing I haven't seen it do is get into heavily clogged idle passages in carburetors. It can really fill up a fuel filter with gooky stuff (<---------fancy technical term) and stop it up. By keeping the old filter in there, you're filling up what you plan to throw away anyway. This way, when you put a new filter on, it should last a while as most of the garbage went with the old one.
