Just wondering if a 96 blazer motor and tyranny would work in a 95 GMC jimmy

The transmission probably will. The engine, however, will not. '95 == CPI engine. '96 == SCFI engine. While the block can likely be used from a '96 into a '95, the heads on up are different and would need to be swapped from the '95 engine.

Wrong again. The bolts that hold the intake manifold to the heads are in a different orientation (96+ SCFI engine has vertical bolt orientation while the 95 & earlier CPI engines had the intake bolts oriented perpendicular to the intake gasket surface on the head.
