Doesn't seem to make a difference...that I can clearly tell (not scientific). But the Service Engine light has finally come on, and I can smell the faint sweetness of transmission fluid. Time to take her in.

The service engine is probaly the infamous trans slip code.

Yeah, if that's the case I'm probably looking at a rebuild, eh?

Depends on exactly what the problem is,If theres internal damage to the clutches,steels and you have burnt fluid which would be a good indicator of that yes.
If its the torque converter No just have it replaced along with changing the fluid and filter.

Well, in the shop. Waiting on word...so far, it's gonna be anywhere from $900 to $2700. Definitely debris in the fluid...

$2700 to rebuild the trans plus the R&R is absurd.I have a trans guy shopw owner will do the job for $1200.He`s the best in town.

I know it's rape. But everything in Los Angeles is absurdly overpriced. What's really unfortunate, is a recent family tragedy has forced my hand as I'm out of town.
