Check the tub or Body rocker panels outside (under the door) and the back sides, the floor under the seats, K5s are bad about cracking where the seat bolts are. Check the panel under the rear seat (from underside) usually rusted there, the tail panel under the endgate. Being an early model you can expect some rust issues but as earlier posted if it runs and pulls its def worth a thousand.

well i didnt get it for a thousand. i told him 6 because i might need valve cover gaskets. its not bad underneath. theres a thing or 2 that needs a patch on parts of the frame. just littler parts not the main parts. tomorrow im going to work then going to get a new flowmaster muffler for it. it apparently has a flowmaster exhaust system. the interior had a funny smell. so i rode home with the windows open, a whole 80 miles without incident. pics r coming.

well today i got alot accomplished. i cleaned the corn stalk pieces out of the truck, vacuumed the whole thing out, shampooed the seats, there beige now not a dirty brown, and with some aluminum foil and vinegar i started getting the rust off the mirrors. sometime this week im hitting the junkyard for some parts i need underneath, mostly some smaller supports and mounts, probably 300 dollars worth of stuff, but it'll b worth every penny in the long run.

thanks. as of now the interior is cleaned, all 15 dirty, used earplugs got removed and the 4 cigarette butts in the one ashtray got removed. now it smells decent, and im starting to work on the rust. the one quarter panel got some rot cut out of it and the other one is perfect. then theres a couple small spots under 4 or 5 square inches to assess and the body work is close to done. then i want to under coat it completely. tomorrow ill get some pictures, it sure is coming along nice. i got the rust off of my mirrors with vinegar and aluminum foil.

Thanks swartlkk, the speedo was out in my '79, and I just assumed it was a cluster issue so I was putting it off. Gear replacement took couple mins, and now its good to go.
