96 Blazer: is it worth it?
Hey all,
I originally had this in another part of the forum, but maybe it's more appropriate here.
So, I may be getting a biased opinion, but I'm hoping for an honest one too! To be honest, I've always been more of a Ford guy myself, but my father-in-law has always been a Chevy guy and has me thinking about one.
I'm currently looking at a 96 4 door 4WD Blazer, and I was wondering if there's any issues I should be looking for or considering when looking at this vehicle. It's got A/C (needs a recharge), automatic trans, shifter on the floor for 4WD (i prefer this over the push button IMHO). Had slight difficulty getting it from 4Low into Neutral, but it did eventually go. Turn signals don't work but the hazard flashers do, so I'm going to guess it's a signal relay or the signal arm itself. There's about 225K km's, and I think the price is decent at $2000 Cdn.
Are these vehicles known for any problems I should be watching for?
Thanks for your input!

These are used vehicles with quirks that can be fixed
It really comes down to how the previous owner(s) treated the vehicle. If they treated it well and kept up on routine and preventative maintenance, it may be a dream. If they treated it like crap, it could fall apart on the trip home after picking it up. But that is true for any used vehicle. It is 14+ years old!
