A definite plus using NAPA Gold filters made by Wix. Used them for years with no trouble at all, and alot more filtering media than Fram ever thought of putting in theirs. I personally have never used Royal Purple so I can't comment on it. Use alot of NAPA Oil made by Ashland Chemical Co, same maker as Valvoline.

I'm currently running amsoil 10w30 with a k&n oil filter. Never tried royal purple so I can't say either.

I have Quaker State 5W-30 and a Fram filter in mine. I wont be getting a Fram once this one is gone (not to mention they are hard to find these days). I'll probably try one of those NAPA Gold ones.

Anyone have anything good/bad to say about Quaker State oil?

Dude Quaker State is junk oil, so is Pennzoil. I'd switch to valvoline real quick if you don't wanna pay for RP or Amsoil.

Ok, I just changed the oil (MY 2nd oil change). Royal Purple 10W-30 and a Purolator PureONE oil filter (The gold one) since I was not able to get a Napa oil filter (store was closed at the time I went to get the supplies to change the oil). The only better filter was K&N at double the price. I seem to be getting better at changing oil (except for getting grease all over the front end parts). I did try to replace the grease fittings on the inner tie rods with 90 degree fittings, but they wouldn't fit for some reason. I had to put the old ones back in as tight as I could put them in. I did notice oil all over the oil pan, left CV axle and the front differential (I almost thought the front diff was leaking at first near where the cable attaches to the diff, but then I noticed it was oil because it was all over the pan and the surrounding area). I know my main seal is leaking, but I am not noticing much of a loss of oil on the dipstick. I know I had both sets of oil lines leaking, but I already had them replaced.

Yeah, I hate fram anything. I personally use Castrol and Napa Gold oil filter. I've heard bad things about Quaker State and Penzoil before what do you guys think about Castrol out of curiosity.

I buy RP or Valvoline Synthetic 10w-30, always teamed with a K&N filter. The nut makes everything so much easier and I don't seem to make as big of a mess.

I think most of this has been discused before, but I know that Havoline is made by Valvoline though I'm not sure of a difference between the two and I've been told that there's no difference between Valvoline and Castrol. I've used all three in the past and never had any issues.

I use Castrol Syntec and wix filters in both my vehicles. I beleive any high quality synthetic will do. It is all personal preference. Quaker state and penzoil are the same company. Fram filters are junk for oil.

Valvoline 5w-30 with K&N filter and a bottle of Lucas Oil Stabilizer every change. Oil always looks very clean after 3000-4000.
