Curse the blazer!!

Let's see, Intake gaskets, rattles including the one in the engine. Have to jack up the engine to replace the starter. Everything electronic can and probably will not work, then magically work again. Steering is loose, even with new parts.

205-75-15 tires on 15x6 rims on these size trucks factory just looks unsafe. The gearing could have been a pinch lower to help with torque in the low end. 105 amp alternator could have been a bit beefier. Some of the parts arn't made anymore and if the junk yard doesn't have them or is worn with age you have to go with a company (cough LMC cough) that want's bookoo $$$ for it. I could go on, but without the bad, we wouldn't truely appriciate the good of these great rides.
original equipment on my '92.
- 235/75/R15's.
- 3.42 ratio in the diff's.
- doesn't your truck have A/C?

Ok in order Chris, Yeah, the sticker on the door lists 205-75-15 for the tires. It has AC, had 3.42 gears. It seems like it had a good pull in upper rpm's but the low end wasn't the best. But the 31's and 4.10's with everything else I've done gave it that low rpm grunt I like. Remember, not everyone got the super awesome manual trans T15 like some people did,
ha ha.
And yeah I was joking. What, you think I'm gonna get a antique license plate and put it in car shows next to Chevelle's and Impala's? But I forgot something earlier...
I hate, repeat, HATE the cup holder on the 1st gen. It's big enough for a damn 5 gallon water jug so ANY cup you get from a drive-thru or can or bottle, can and will tip over if you even think about moving in any direction. You have to drive with one hand holding your drink. Had a drink tip today and remembered this thread while cleaning up, ha ha.

where do i begin..................
1) why the hell would someone order a 4WD truck with bicycle tires on it?
2) i know.
3) i wasn't! seriously...........please tell me you're not one ofthose people who go, "hey! my vehicle is 25 years old. now it's a classic!
"
see, now i'm the one who's joking.
4)
like the ones in a 2nd gen are any better?
5) well d'uh!
6) try doing that while driving stick AND talkin' on your cell! (long before that stupid "hands free" law came into effect!)
well, that was fun!

Really though, I bet that was a aquired talent that took some practice. Well you were probley born with it but still. Yeah and I never understood the little tiny tires on the blazer either. Those tires on the tiny rims looked awfull when I got it. They sat in the wheel well in the rear so far it was nasty. Looked like it had a car axle in the back, lol.

You.... Are..... GOD!......

I can't really think of much I don't like about my Blazer....The leather driver's seat is ripped (I think it's a Chevy truck trademark), the rearview mirror shakes constantly, and the rear defrost cable has somehow worked it's way off the rear glass (Again, It looks like it was soldered before), but mine hardly ever rattles and I like almost everything about it. Except for the growing spot of rust/bare metal behind both front wheels really pisses me off every time I see it, the paint is just peeling off. I have to change the spark plugs soon, which sounds oh so fun, and the stupid replacement alternator sits at about 13 most of the time, Which means when I put it in 4wd or the ABS kicks in or anything, everything dims or flickers with the pulses. I can't afford a better one though or the $1800 to repaint my lower panels (which would take care of the missing paint in the door jambs WTF?, they chipped in weird spots)

are you serious?!!
i got a quote from the body shop in town (which owns the garage, where a friend of mine is the mechanic), and he quoted me $500 to do all the lowers-including blowing in the sills/door jambs & front/rear bumpers.
an extra $100 would take care of the bubbling issue starting on the bottom of the LG (seam area).
i sure hope you get a 2nd quote before you do any of that work.
and for the record, i know the mechanic, not the body shop guys. an dthey did'nt even know that i knew him, i went in off the street, just to se what their prices were like.
