Funny exhaust compliment
So I'm driving in an underground parking garage and I know that one of my passengers is a Subaru nut. Through him I've learned that Subaru owners can be funny about their exhaust sounds. (unbalanced pipes or some such thing)
Well the window is down and I ask him "So what do you think of my exhaust sound?" (I have a Dynomax cat-back exhaust installed.) To which he says "Hmm, sounds a bit like a Subaru, nice." I replied that "I guess I should take that as a compliment, eh?"
We both had a good chuckle.

Ha! People go nuts for Subies.
Fun fact: Subaru was not doing so hot on sales here in the States, so they started targeting a demographic (with subliminal messaging) that no other car company did...lesbians.

Now look...20 years+ later, they are maybe the most popular car/suv on the road!

Closest thing I ever had to sounding like a Subbie was a 91 Toyota Pickup. I pulled apart the original 22RE with 305k miles and had it bored out, threw on a new head with oversized valves and a little lumpy cam, and the exhaust consisted of a 4 to 1 header straight back to a Magnaflow chambered muffler (no cat). Had one of the deepest throatiest sounds I've ever heard for an inline 4 cylinder. And ran like a raped ape...
