I can walk for about 10 feet before my legs give out. In my old rig I would drive up onto the lift at the rear of my F150, pull myself off by holding onto the tailgate, flip the switch to lift the power chair up off the ground then "wall walk" down the side of the truck to get to the cab. "Wall Walking" is a technique handicap people use to steady themselves. We "walk" or steady ourselves by walking down the wall as we walk down the hall.

The prob with the blazer is she is not heavy enough to carry the big heavy power lift and chair. My solution is to not use a power lift but use an aluminum carrier with a folding ramp on one end. The purpose of bagging the rear is to be able to lower the rear from ride hieght to as low as I can to the ground. That way the angle of the ramp on the is not so steep and hard to get up. Also the lower to the ground the shorter the ramp can be. Optimally you want a 1" drop form every 12" of run in case you are in a manual chair or the battery gives out in your power one.
The ramp will plug into the cat III trailer hitch hole.

That thing with the passenger door opening wider sounds like a good idea but it wouldn't really work for me since I don't want the power scooter in the Blazer with me.

If you are just wanting the frame to rest on the axle and that be the lowest you can do a bag over monoleaf in the rear. Even that will be pushing your budget.

If ya wanting the frame on the ground thats gonna be way out of your budget. Gonna have to notch the frame, rework the interior panels, tub the rear, 4 link, bags, and air system.

my firstgen before i put one ton suspension under it would handle 500 lbs. It would squat the rear but i've had that in bags of concrete in the back before. With air you can easily jack it back up tho.

I don't know why prev post did not post but I'll try again.

I can walk about 10 feet before my legs give out.
If I have a lift on the back with a hinged ramp,
the lower I can get it to the ground,
the less steep the ramp incline will be and the shorter the ramp will have to be.
I will need to install at least some "load assist" air bags to stabilize the weight of the lift and scooter hanging off the back.
I thought stepping up to a larger bag might give me a lower drop.

most of the time the simplest ideas are the best.
