I have just a hair over 223k on my 02. Got it at 177k 2 years ago in Colorado and have been taking it back and forth across the country ever since besides fuel pump replacement and a radiator and a minor oil leak it has been good to me.

As of this week I have put 10,000 miles on my '04 I got in June of last year with 169,000. I like the BFG KO tires I got immediately.Replaced all 3 O2 sensors, fuel evap solenoid, rear brake line, parking brakes,HD radiator, tune up;wires, plugs cap, rotor, oil&filter trans filter&fluid, tranfercase vac switch, vac lines, belt radiator hoses, window shades, electric brake wiring and tow connector, minor touch up paint. I still need to replace tranfercase seal, install new 4x4 vacume actuator & vac. canister,check/replace interior vacume actuators & blend doors, and replace intake manifold gaskets. ( I have noticed coolant seepage above the water pump )

Would you say the changes you made increased the output or did it stay about the same? What about gas mileage, better or worse and did you make any changes to the exhaust. I have been thinking about doing this myself and wanted to get some opinions from others who have made this change.

My 2000 Jimmy is about to hit 124,000 miles. I had to replace my instrument cluster a couple years ago. It now reads 55,100 miles. I have to add 68,828 to get actual miles.

Can't say if output increased over when that engine was in the Jimmy with all the electronics on it, because both vehicles had different gearing, and I don't know which one was heavier. Definitely didn't slow it down, though. The '00 Jimmy the engine came out of had 3.42s in it, but the '89 S10 had 3.73s, so that made a big difference there. We used to get 18 MPG or so in the Jimmy - we got 17 mpg out of it carb'ed in the '89. Not much of a difference there. Got rid of the perpetual misfires too. The difference over the stock TBI engine in the '89 was night and day - not even in the same universe power-wise.

Exhaust was 100% stock front to back, except for an Advance Auto heavy duty muffler (round). Nothing performance oriented on the engine aside from the carb and intake. Ran absolutely BEAUTIFULLY, and still did the day I sold it.
