Well it is up and running. I still have to sort the backup switch out on the side of the tranny. But I’m going to get it into MY YARD to sort the small stuff out.
A little heads up, GM does not want to(or can’t) flash the PCM for the auto. I do have the PCM from the manual truck but it would start but not run. So I found out that there is security built into it and there is a ‘relearn’ procedure to perform.
i did this and all is good now. Relearn procedure is easily found on the net.

Well there is the interior. It had a console so instead of messing with the key release wires down at the old console I rigged a button release with a tube JB Welded to the backup key release within the steering column.
Just the backup lights for completion but I found the diagrams under ‘Lighting’.

Thank you Tom. I haven’t checked in in a bit as I have been struggling to find that annoying occasional misfire. A few experimental sensors later and ended up with a new distributor. All fixed now. Jimmy is going great, new stereo head unit, key fobs for alarm/locks. Next take care of that drivers seat before moving to bigger things. Thanks guys for all the help so far.Originally Posted by Tom A
Looks like it came from the factory like that.
Great to be wrenching again, Shawn
