General Chat Chat about all things Blazer (and related vehicles). Off-topic stuff should be in the lounge, and all mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Just a Rant, I guess.

Default Just a Rant, I guess.

I went to drive to a hunting spot yesterday and my transmission wouldn't hit 4th gear. I just paid a shop almost 2k to rebuild it and it wouldn't even shift. Really? Good thing I gave em *crap* about the short warranty and got a better one because it looks like I may need it. Also, when I started it that night, my hvac wasn't working. Now it does. My Jimmy drives me nuts, but I still love it...At least a little.

Do you think it might be slipping? Might be leaking fluid if it was rebuilt.

Could be a fluid issue in the trans or torque converter & as for the HVAC look for a vacuum leak. Spray brake cleaner on suspect hoses & see if the engine revs up or changes.

It's not even trying to change gears. I got it up to 80 mph and 4.5k rpms and it stayed in third like that's all it had. No fluid leaking that I can see and 1-3 all work fine. As for the hvac, i'll try the brake cleaner if it acts up again.

Thanks for the insight,
Steve
