Tig is what I used for my shackles https://blazerforum.com/forum/members/rottidog-12089-albums-garage-cb-gf-calls-gag-cranberry-blazer-1830/ & yeah a 6010 (farmers rod) would be better or a 70XX
Then took them to the company next door & got them powdercoated.

 

yup the farmers rod is a good rod high penetration but i have never trued tig on 1/4 shackles i dont think it would work to well but i like yours


P.S. i know those shackles look like Dog poop but trust me thats not my type of work and i have refined the second set i made for shane since the first set was a mess up (wont happen again!) im the only one working on projects like this for now on sorry for the mis guided quality of my work but for sure will be putting up pics of the new set before shipping

 

well yesterday i picked up my sheet of 3/16th steel (heavy let me tell you!!!) so today i took it put it on the plasma cutter and cut all my parts out for my bumper :P

The bad i cant weld it till tuesday ( i don't have school saturday and sunday and then i got In school suspension on monday for just messing around with another student)

so tuesday i should be able to start welding it up but here are some pictures of shackles i made and panted and the CNC cutting of my bumper parts out and EVEN A VIDEO!!!!
