More 4x4 issues
The c/v boot problem shouldn't have anything to do with your front axle engaging. You need to see if your front axle is fully engaging. It kinda sounds like it may not be and that could be anything from a bad shift motor to a leaky vacuum actuator or the engagement cable. How's your vacuum lines and switch on the t-case?
well when i climbed under it there are no vac lines unless there on top of the t-case im not sure. but i know when i engage all four wheels are locked in. but when i add more power to it it slips out and only the rear wheels will spin???
not to mention this is my first push button 4x4

The lines are on top of the transfer case just behind the forward u-joint on the t-case. That's where the switch is with 3 lines to it. One is vacuum in, another is vacuum out (goes to your actuator) and the third is a vent. When the motor engages, it puts power to your front driveshaft but the front differential is still not enagged until the vacuum is ported to the actuator to pull the cable to engage the front end. This switch is what does the "porting". Really works the same as the older 231 t-case except the motor shifts the t-case from 2H to 4H & 4L instead of a lever. The lines run over the top and can be a bit of a bugger to find. If your hand isn't solid black with all the road grime, etc. you haven't got close enough yet. Trust me, they're there. I would next suspect the actuator having a hole in it. It;s under the battery tray. Check the lines first.
Got the same truck as you do.
