Default Need help with misfire 2001 Chevy Blazer LT

I have I have a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer LT 4.3L. I replaced all spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor but still have a code of a misfire in cylinder 1 but my cylinder 1 spark plug goes to Cylinder 3 on the distributor cap and cylinder 3 spark plug goes to cylinder 1 on the distributor cap. It's the only way it will run, if I reverse them the check engine light flashes and the vehicle starts to shake what do I do?

  1. Make absolutely certain that your wire routing is correct
  2. Measure the resistance of each wire and inspect for cracks
  3. Inspect under the distr cap for carbon traces or defects
  4. Get CMP retard within spec with a capable scanner
  5. Mist the engine running in the dark and look for arcing
  6. Be certain that the distr cap, rotor, wires and plugs are all AC Delco and the correct part numbers
