Update
Just thought I'd let everyone know that about an hour ago I breathed new life in this old beast. Took me over a year (lol) to evict all the gremlins, but as far as the motor goes, they are gone. No with out their pranks but....... The fuel lines in the plenum were cracked and the back plate screw was stripped where the socket goes. Then an intake bolt snapped (the last one of course) so I had to drill the bolt out to get the intake off. Next on the bill was to vacuem out the valley & do crud control (cylinders 4 &6 were totally coked around the push rods!). Back to the bolt, after many PB Blaster soaks and heat treatment, I got a square easy out. Problem with that was I followed the direction and the easy out just fell in the hole. Return to the parts store & exchanged bits. Finally it came out. Fixed & re-assembled everything & hooked up 2 batteries, she fired up within 5 cranks! FINALLY!!!! After a few burps & stalls, the blazer settled into a nice steady, quiet idle. Not a strange sound to be heard.
Oh, and with firing the truck up, I found a VERY RARE option that this truck has. A factory built moskito repelling fogger!!! How cool is that? Can we say score?? Tomorrow I'll test drive it after a couple more minor adjustments. For now, I'll settle fopr a beer.
