hi ,new to the site looks great and plan on getting lots of use from it, i have a question reguarding recalls.I recently bought a 96 blazer and just looked and seen there was a recall for a shift issue that it seems i am having .but the recall was back in 2011.does that mean i can get it repaired free of charge? or is it more of a notice that it should be checked but im stuck with the bill becasue i am not the original owner or the vehice is a 1996 ? not really sure how recalls work with older vehicles.I am in canada as well so i imagine we may have different rules with recalls here? thank you for and tips and advice.

 

I'd take it to a dealership and ask about it there. Just make sure you let them know you don't want any work done unless it will be free.
