Default spare tire tailgate rack

does anyone know if it is possible to attach a spare tire rack onto the back of a 4 door blazer? some jackass rearended me and knocked my spare off so i have been riding around with it attached onto my roof. i like the way it looks but i was wondering if it would even be possible to attach it.

If you are thinking about a swing out tire carrier like the two door Blazers have, this is an excellent thread to check out. I plan on doing this pretty soon!

come on man, do a search before you just drop a question out there. This can be done, has been done and is discussed all over this site. If you do actually do it post some pics of the final job so we can check it out. This is a mod that I am wanting to tackle but I cant find a carrier anywhere around me.

It's not only doable, but well worth the time and effort involved, IMO. Dimone, keep looking. I had just about given up on finding one in my part of the world, but I finally got lucky and got one for 35 bucks. The salvage yard where I found it didn't even know they had it. One of the yard guys took me out to look at the blazers they had on hand and there it was.

the pick and pull out here in wadsworth has i think 7 blazers in there not counting the counter parts like bravadas and most of them were put on the lot recently this month so i definately have to make a trip out there sometime this week.
