Thinking about getting a ZR2

I live in PA. Where did you hear we have strict rust laws? I've had a couple rust buckets pass inspection over the years. Heck, only recently (last few years) have some counties even started adopting smog inspections. I wouldn't use our inspections as assurance that there is not rust in the rear quarter panel. Matter of fact I'm actually going to be welding new steel to repair a hole in that area (just in front of the passenger side rear tire) on my '98 ZR2 you could fit your fist thru.

I know some people that live in PA and can have a hard time getting vehicles to pass inspection. My friend had a custom snorkle and it wouldn't pass because it "had a hole in the fender".

I also live in PA. I think it depends on the county/garage inspecting it. My mechanic is pretty strict about rust but I know of people who have passed with duct tape covering rust holes

I have a 99 and I would try to find one that has the auto fwd along with the hi-lo. We just got snow here in Illinois and it's so much better being able to maintain speed without worrying.
