Got the t-case vac switch. Have not put it in yet. I will do that next weekend.
Hopefully it fixes the 4wd to get us through winter before it gets sent off to vehicle heaven.

Default Yes - seems like I'm doing something to this machine every day....

Hi - Just had to deactivate my ABS system, after finding this was the easiest and cheapest way to escape the low-speed ABS fail that would panic me when I was nearly stopped and then the ABS would kick in and cause me to drift forward while clicking madly. No worries - after watching a few videos, I unplugged the 3 plugs going to the ABS block. Problem solved - cost = 0. This followed replacement of the Brake booster a few weeks ago - not sure if that cause the ABS fail, but now brakes work fine - after I replaced all front rotors, pads, pins a few weeks after that. I think I'm in 'Equity Rescue' mode, as I'm getting ever more invested in this old crate, But - I've got a character weakness known as loyalty - to old things. So - on we go. Today - $300.00 in new snow tires for the front, so I can face another Vermont winter. Also recently replaced some crumbly vacuum lines in the hope my 4WD will function better - was sluggish last year and clunked when shifting. Always something..... always hoping for that elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow - when everything on this will function properly......

Awe man that brought tears to my eye`s Lol.But you should have been a poet.Your like me,I tend to attach and love to keep older vehicle`s around.I recently had a 81 chevy malibu I sold 4 months ago.I had her since I was in high school. From 1991-2015.Only reason why I sold her because one of obama`s illegal alien teeboned the driver side, rear corner quarter panel. It ran a red light, had to insurance or drivers license.Totaled my baby out.It knocked off the bumper, trunk lid completely. The bumper caused both rear frame rails to buckle.Talk about cry.But I sold her 3 days later to a fellar off of criagslist...That had an 82 el camino. So he used the motor, transmission to put in his el camino. That car was liable, and very safe. It`s amazing how we get attached to a vehicle. Now i`m attached to my new baby.

Default Finally fixed my seats

Went to the salvage yard over the weekend and picked up nice front seats from a 2003 4 door for $40. I have a 2 door but the cushions and covers were beat. Took out my seats and striped both sets down to frames. NOW I know why my seats were so uncomfortable...padding torn an degraded, back supports broken off and missing. That also explains why the lumbar didn't work as it connects to the supports. Welded the back supports from donor seat (they were broken off also but were at least there) onto my drivers seat back an reconnected the lumbar. Passengers seat only had bottom of one of the supports snapped off, welded that an gave the others a extra tack. Reassembled with donor padding an covers, had to cut new holes for the upper recliners an lumbar. I ordered the "fix" replacement handles for lower recliner as mine are broke off but for now I have drivers seat reclined to my liking.

Drivers seat is so much more comfortable now especially since I can actually use the lumbar. It took about 2 hours including the time it took to fiddle with my welder to get it working right (wire was rusty).
