what have you gotten done on your blazer today?
Thanks for the reminder. I have a new 0-250 in-lb torque wrench in the trunk of my other car just for this! I've been kind-of getting by without one for years but the warnings about this job prompted me to finally get one.
Thanks
When you pulled the plastic plenum off, what condition was the surface of the lower intake manifold in? Was it coated with carbon?
The reason I ask is because when I pulled mine off to do the injectors yesterday it was unbelievably clean. I mean it looked almost new. What is that an indication of?

I'll also post these in a more appropriate place in the forum.
My only guess is that the PCV valve was stuck open many years ago as I've been good about checking and replacing it.

While part of a LIM gasket and fuel injector replacement/upgrade, I did a thorough job of cleaning up the valve covers, plenum (upper intake), lower intake, lifter valley and cylinder head faces, and reinstalled the valve covers.
Let's hope with everything clean, the reassemble part goes easy! (I'm glad I labeled all those connectors!)

Ah, that makes sense that the fuel could be washing the surfaces whereas without a fuel leak it is reasonable to expect some carbon-like crud coating things due to the PCV and EGR systems doing their job.
FUN...
okay not really...
Should have the new heater core in tomorrow and start putting everything back together. Going to take my time and get everything buttoned up Wednesday afternoon.
Started off planning to just lean the dash back. Then I realized it was only a couple plugs away from just lifting completely out and giving a TON more room, so I went ahead and just did that...
