A pre-2007 engine (I hope)? As you probably know, the '07-up had lots of issues with AFM, and cheaped out valve train components. Hate to see you go through all that work only to yank it again in a couple years for that.
I currently own a '07 Silverado I bought brand new, and my engine is failing (cam bearings, with lifters soon to follow as usual with these engines) with just 94k miles on the clock. Started burning oil at 50k. I broke the engine in to the letter, started out running Royal Purple around 2k miles, and switched to Amsoil Signature Series at 40k miles. Oil analysis picked up on the high levels of iron and copper (cam, & brass bearing material). Longest I've ever gone on the Amsoil was 10k miles. Since I got that oil analysis, I do no more than 6k.
GM sure ain't what she used to be ...
They make great power, though. Should be a lot of fun in the light Blazer!

Yea it's an 06 motor fully rebuilt new pistons, new bearings throughout, ported heads, beehive springs, corvette cam (525/211 I believe) we're hoping for ~400 hp
nice... now that LS3 I've got is really teasing me to get shoe-horned into the Blazer...
If your going to put it in a 4x4 get the dirty dingo engine mounts, Sanders headers and wiring harness from current performance is a plus. The H3 alpha oil pan bearly fit also had to put 3/8 spacers under the engine mounts. I have a 2.5 rough country lift and had to lenghend the driver drop bracket and added some spacers under the passengers drop plate to get the differential to clear the pan. We also took the transmission cross member and cut and flipped the mounting plate for the tranny mount to lift it about 1 1/4" to also help with clearance issues
