Im shampooing the interior, Ive wanted to since I got it last year. Im doing it all by hand with a brush and wet/dry vac. Ill post some before and after pics when I get a chance. I can tell the difference but just to make sure Im gonna redo the bad parts and do all of it with a shampooer.

Lemony fresh

Hey Man,
Where did you get that hood?
I've been looking for one like that but all I can find is the tall 4" ones.
Thanks in advance,

I can't figure out how to post new topics so maybe you guys can answer a question.

Has anyone tried or heard of anyone else trying to cut out the honey comb in the MAF to increase airflow for added HP?

I've heard of it being done but very little results have been posted about it.

Thanks in advance

He posted that a few years ago so I'm not too sure if he'll be around still.

LMC truck sells the 4" cowl hood.

That's been covered & frowned upon. The honeycomb design is meant to straighten the air & removing it fouls the airflow. A "high flow" MAF might gain a tiny bit but for a NA (naturally aspirated) stock engine, the gains would be minimal at best & not worth the $.

As for the posting https://blazerforum.com/forum/newthr...=newthread&f=5 <--- just an example. The New Thread in the upper left of a section.

Drove up north on Friday and by the time I got there. I got a phone call that I have to come back to work to take over someone's else shift for that night, Saturday, and today because of the family emergency so I drove right back down here. So I didn't get to do anything to the Blazer this time

I set out to do a bunch of small jobs on my wife's '00 Blazer. My plan was to replace the front door hinge pins, replace the vacuum lines under the hood, check the a/c charge, and install the stereo I took out of my '98 Jimmy. Everything went awry.

1. My friend Alex broke my door spring compressor tool when we tried to get the first spring out. We gave up on that particular part of the plan.

2. I checked the vacuum lines and they were a neglected mess. It wouldn't go into 4WD and the HVAC settings kept changing under acceleration. Those are classic vacuum line problems. The little teeny lines over near the vacuum reservoir were brittle and had small holes in them. I replaced them. I decided to look at the other lines and they were starting to get brittle. Then I traced over to the vacuum actuator under the battery and I found that about two inches of vacuum hose had melted onto the exhaust manifold. I replaced that long section of hose going to the actuator. HVAC and 4WD works well now.

3. I put the gauge set on the a/c system and turned it on high. The pressure readings were the same on both the low side and the high side. I think that means the compressor isn't compressing anything. I also discovered the high side service port is leaking. I'll do more research on what it takes to fix that.

4. The radio was the biggest PITA. I pulled a nice Sony head unit out of my '98 Jimmy to install my new Kenwood HD deck. I donated the Sony to my wife who really only listens to Adele CDs. I had everything I needed for the installation except a factory wiring harness adapter. I went to Autozone to pick one up and they sold me the one that was supposed to be right. The wrong harness was in the box and I had to return it. I had to go over to O'Reilly's to get the right harness. That part of the job took over two hours. It should have been about a half hour.

I took it out for a test drive and noticed it was running at about 150° F. I suspect the thermostat may be stuck open. I'll check that in the morning.
