only 2 actual things i found i didnt like was 1,you look a lil low in brake fluid. 2. your upper rad hose looks a lil weak/flaccid. Mine is perfectly round.

1, its not, checked it tonight, the reservoir is just dirty :P
and 2, I need a longer rad hose, the new alt is bigger than the old, so the rad hose is resting on it pretty hard. you can see a piece of 1/8th inch rubber i put below the hose to prevent chafing until I get a new hose.

A weak/flaccid hose with chafing is never a comfortable condition to find yourself having!! But I'm glad to hear you are using protection

Thats what she said.... LOL

but man, when i was installing this alt... the hose was super tight... i was like "this is not going to fly..."

What would you guys recommend in this situation? since the hose on the truck is molded to be specific.... I am not sure what to do, that is why I used the piece of rubber to prevent chafing on my hose.
Should I just get the same size hose but a straight piece, and run it behind the alt to the radiator?

Not sure how they are routed on the 1st gens but from your pic it looks like you should be ok going behind the alt with a little longer hose.

I think I will do that at some point, I might just see how much it is on the head and the radiator, see if I can get about a half inch out of both sides, it would help more than enough. but I would rather not push it.
It is working still though how it should, drove it around a lot and the temp did not get above what it did before. I might just put it off for a bit and worry about more important things.

but its a good thing to keep in mind haha (drunk)

Today was wash and oil change day at Hanson's Garage. I changed oil in my '98 Jimmy and the wife's '00 Blazer. Her last oil change was in November of last year. The truck had gone about 8000 miles since then. (She doesn't really realize why oil changes are important and never wants to leave the truck with me long enough for me to do it.) The Jimmy had its last oil change on July 29th. Since that date I have driven about 3500 miles. After the oil change the Jimmy got a much-needed bath. Our cats love climbing all over it and leave their dirty paw prints on it. Now it's nice and clean again!

Could always do what I did. Just a piece of a copper 45° elbow. Ain't pretty, but it works.

smitty i thought that was to give you time when the ****ty driver side engine mount breaks and then under wot the engine lifts and the alt fan blends into the rad hose? Its happened to me twice. Darn tbi motors. thankfully on cpi that cant happen. Instead the spiders leak LOL
