Would you buy a vehicle with almost 300k on it?
I'm looking at a 2000 GMC Sonoma 4.3 4x4 auto. It is really straight and looks in pretty good shape for it's age. It has almost 300,000 miles on it but it is for sale for $975. I'm torn about it considering the high prices in the used car market and would like to ask; would you buy a vehicle with almost 300k? yes or no and why?

Dang, tough call.
Could have the engine and drive-train checked?
Do you have the maintenance records?
My 2000 Blazer had 291,000 miles when I bought it for $450. I ended up replacing almost every mechanical part on it. If you are capable of working on it yourself and don't mind having to, then it sounds like a pretty decent deal. If you're looking for reliable transportation that you just put gas in and drive, probably not so much.
I've talked to the seller a bit but not in depth. They have had the truck since 2004. I'm sure if I was more serious I could find that out and possibly have a mechanic check it out. It is about an hour and a half from me so I want to be serious if I go look at it.
