I have the same intake Peco has pretty much and it works great! I gained about 1.5-2 mpgs over stock and a good amount of throttle response!

Good system, upgrade it with a K&N 3 or 3.5" filter pending on the diameter of the intake tube. If you look you can find the cone filter from K&N for around $20. I found the K&N filter did better on gas mileage than the Spectre filter.

I know it's a 350 and a Suburban and not a Blazer but this is my setup for now. I don't have a heat shield made yet but this is what I did:

I added a cheapo Spectre highflow filter, and the PCV breather I may or may not use. Yes that is a metal clothes hanger holding the intake tube, it's temporary until I rig up a heat shield, it'll double as a mount for the tube. This is just an idea for those of you wanting an ultra cheap intake.

Also, I know the 04's don't have it, maybe some do but as for the silencer box (part that says "Vortec") you can't see but I put duct tape over the hole so air goes straight into the throttle body instead of going through the box. I put the box on again to hide the tape and because I like how it looks. Anywho, the filter and blocking that off made a difference, a small one but noticable to me. You can easily hear the intake from inside now, which is impressive because it's a very quiet interior. I also like the fact that it made the exhaust a bit louder too what with the air coming in faster. Not sure who all is familiar but the stock Vortec 350 has dual 2" pipes into the muffler and a single 2.5" tailpipe. Well eventually i'll redo it all with headers but for now I stabbed an 18" Magnaflow into the stock pipes, kept it mostly stock since the stock pipes are stainless and I need it to last till I can afford new pipes, but with 2 cats and a fairly long Mag, it's pretty quiet. The intake made it noticably louder, and the packing burning up made it even louder so I can finally hear it. Helped tremendously to cut off the 90 degree bend off the stock tailpipe just after the last hanger:

That completely got rid of the drone it had when I first installed the muffler, now it's all exhaust and no drone.
