Heres the sound difference on mine: High flow cat: Before and After
I think it makes a nice difference, not a 300$ difference tho. I only upgraded to the High flow because my stock one got clogged, and i figured it was a good time to upgrade. so yes i did build it up over time.
Its a MagnaFlow High Flow Cat and its 3" pipe from the cat all the way back. and 40 series muffler of course.
