Default what high flow cat???

ok i have an 01 2 door blazer 2wd. im going with a magnaflow 11216 muffler and 2.5 in piping.magnaflow is not showing a part # for a high flow cat for the 2wd. does anyone have a part number? will the hm one for the 4wd work on mine??. and what are the best headers i can buy?? i dont care about the looks of the headers just performance. thanks for any replies

Contact magnaflow, they will get back to you fast. IMO, any high flow cat will work just fine. With a high flow you are paying for the name. Also, IMO, headers in these trucks don't really pay off. The bang they produce isn't worth the bucks lol. Check into getting your pcm tuned, a lot of people agree its the best bang for your buck performance mod.

+1 on PCM tune.

Also, you can go with one of their universal high-flow metallic cats. Those are very free flowing 200-400 cells, and they take a lot more heat, are spun forged and don't restrict much.

For headers I agree on a internally stock engine. What you'll get is mostly sound because of the internals of the engine & the Y pipe in the single exhaust. If you still want headers JBA ceramic shorties are probably the best & around $500.

thanks guys. i think im going to hold off on the headers. i was holding off on the tune too bc i'm thinking about cammin it and porting and polishing the heads. someone told me i need to wait til after that to get it tuned. is that true.

Unless you want to get it re-tuned then yes... But if you go through some place like wait for me performance then you get free re-tunes for the life of the car.
