I will have to get to my computer to hopefully find the link to that info. I'm sure it was on s10forum.com but I'll post it later. The torsion bars combined... For 2900lbs. The front axle is only rated at 2800 max. That can be found on cars.com. Reply 6 was very vague. It could have been meant for the previous entry about CV's and such. I didn't overlook anything and I would appreciate it if you, a senior member, would be more respectful as this is my 2nd post on this particular forum. Plus... "NOM torque" applies to what? That is vague as well. It does not explain anything. There is no unit of measure, just NOM torque. What exactly does that mean?? Is that the force the torsion bar resists at its nominal point of travel/normal ride height? Can you post any and all info you have on the torsion bars for me please or just email it to me? I will look into the issue and determine if its a viable mod for my own purpose when I get back from deployment. If it is then i will do a write up on the work involved and the benefit of such.

NOM torque = nominal torque. It's the rating of the spring. The 29,000 lb rating you mentioned is a measurement of torque.

Both reasons, as for me being rude I don't see it. Went as far as to post all the info for you explaining the different rates. If you want to know where the info on the spring rates for s-series is over on s10forum I can post that thread but thats where I pulled those numbers from. Brian started it (orangesonoma) a few years ago talking about swapping zr2 bars in his white blazer.

Maybe you just need thicker skin esp if you are gonna hang out over on s10forum

How do you know which t-bars you have? I have a 94 S10 Blazer 4x4 4.3 and I was just wondering......Also, if someone knows, how do I know if mine is a Blazer Tahoe? The dash says "Tahoe" but that doesn't mean anything....someone could have changed that, right?

Measure their diameter with a caliper.

Redneck trick for those without a caliper.

Take a crescent wrench and tighten down on the bar. Without messing with the adjustment pull it off and measure the inside of the jaws.
