How hard is it to install a body lift into a 2001 Blazer, and what sort of things should i look for before purchasing and attempting to install the body lift

There are several factors initially to consider - is your vehicle a 2wd or 4wd, manual or auto and how high of a lift kit you are looking to install.

Anything over 2" you won't be able to use stock shocks or stock shock height.

My blazer is a 2dr 4wd 4.6L V6 and its a 5 speed

 

First thing to do, regardless of if you use the PA kit, download the BDS instructions from their website. Much easier to follow and better pictures. Read, reread and the read them once again. Find everything that needs to be down on your vehicle BEFORE you start. This will make things much easier and quicker.

Second, depending on where you live, start spraying body mount bolts and everything else with PB Blaster or your choice of penetrating oil. This will result in less headaches when wrenching time comes around.

Third, if you don't have air tools, FIND A BUDDY WHO DOES!!! This will cut the install time in half. It can be done with hand tools but much nicer to have the air tools.

Fourth, make sure you have all the tools you'll need. A lift is best, a floor jack better. Make sure you have a few blocks of wood, preferably 4X4 about a foot long or so. Makes lifting the body off the frame much easier.

Fifth, take your time, follow each step in the instructions, and don't rush when you get close to being done.
