Default Lifting the front on my 99 4x4

Im wondering how to lift the front end on my 99 blazer. I dont want to mess with the torsion bars. In the rear I plan on bringing the axle from on top of the leaf springs to the bottom to achieve a 4-5" lift. If anyone can help me with the front or the rear it would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to relocate the entire front suspension if you are doing a SOA on the rear... Its either that or go with a SFA (solid front axle) with leaf springs...

If you are willing to do the SOA on the rear, it may be best to just better to buy a 5-6" lift from the commercial sources (superlift, etc).

well im looking for a way to lift it 2-6 inches with out spending alot of money. Im only 17 and i make $150 a week with a few hundred saved up. therefore i cant afford to spend 1300 on a full lift kit. so im trying to do it the cheap easy way if there is one.

Rear shackles and a t-bar crank is the cheapest way to get a 1.5" to possibly 2" lift...

I thought about shackles and for the front as i said earlier i would rater not mess with the t-bar due to more wear.

i think ive seen a place that sells just the 6" superlift front kit. i thought i saw it for like $800 and it just lifts the front up like 6" and your on your own for the rear... its been a while since ive seen it though and im not even positive it was for a blazer...it could have been for a silverado

in order to know how high you need to lift, you need to know what size tires you want. 32"? 33"?

is there any kind of kit out there that will relocate the front suspension for not a whole lot of money. Also do you know a price range on a SOP kit.

SOP kit?

any of the 2" lift kits available all use the torsion bars to lift in some way or another. the only kits that will relocate the front diff are the superlift, trailmaster, and BDS. nj4x4blaze just posted a very useful thread that explains all the techniques the various kits use.

Look at my thread when I didmy 6" lift install. I have pictures of everything we did and installed. This takes alot of work and alot of welding. You can not do this "cheap" because you need all the brackets that these lift kits include. The rear may look easy to do but you need new shock mounts that need to be welded in place and the new rear shocks that are going to fit. As for the front you need too drop your front diff which requires new drop brackets. Also you need to relocate your upper and lower control arms which require cutting and new drop brakcets as well. I do not reccommend just buying one box from superlift that claims it has the front components because that is false. My kit came with 3 huge boxes and all the parts were in each box.

If you want a cheap lift, go with a 2" or 3" body lift. Can't get any cheaper than that and wont wear out your front suspension like t-bar cranks.
