you don't have to change the suspension but if you are considering doing a lot of 4 wheeling then I would recommend you upgrade your shocks, rancho, bilsteins, rough country, there are a lot of shocks out there that you can get 2 inches longer than the stock ones.

your lucky you got one with the metal skid plates... and it sounds like you want to make your blazer look like mine maybe minus the wheels. However I found that good wheel spacers for 4 of them actually cost more than the rims I bought. as for the fender flares you don't have many options. there are bushwacker flares that are like $500 for 4 of them or find a junked zr2 with 4 good fender flares. both cases the fender flares aren't a direct fit since you have a 4 door. you will have to modify the rear flares so your back doors can open.
