Blinkers - 2002 S10 Blazer
Left rear turn indicator bulb burnt out. Replaced it and it now works along with all other blinker lights but the left side still blinks fast. Turn right it blinks slow or normal. I figured maybe something wrong with the direction indicator relay so I ordered a new one and received it. Now I can't figure out where this darn thing goes. There is nothing in that big black plastic relay enclosure under the hood. Anyone know were the relay goes? 2002 S10 Blazer
Drop the glove box (open it, empty it, then press up the little metal spring along the top that keeps it from opening further, then the hole glove box will hinge down and face the floorboard).
There in the dash in the hole you just opened up by dropping the glove box, look for a large harness plug with a bolt in the center of it. Just to the right of that you'll find the flasher relay. If it's never been removed before, it will have a plastic strap looped over it, I'm guessing something GM did because they were worried about them falling out or something...
Remove, replace with your new one, and just lift the glove box back up and the spring will just pop back into place and hold it like it's suppose to again.
Also, be sure and double check that ALL of your bulbs are working. A fast flash when just one side turn signal is turned on is usually the way the vehicle indicates to you that you have a bulb out.
There's 4 total bulbs on each side of the Blazers that act as turn signals.
- In each tail light there are 2 bulbs, an upper and lower, they're dual filament and function as the running light when lit dim, and then light up brighter for the brake and turn signals.
- There's 2 in the front on each side, one in the headlight assembly on the outside edge (this one both lights up solid with the running lights and functions as a turn signal) and one in the amber light assembly under the headlight that just as the tail lights, lights up dim with the running lights and then flashes brighter with the turn signals.
If any of those bulbs are out, you'll get the tale-tail fast flash symptom.

My guess is that you did not use the correct blinker fluid. Remember, if you are using incandescent bulbs, you can use either regular or synthetic blinker fluid but if you are using LEDs, you must use the synthetic stuff.
Be sure the watch the whole video if you are not an expert on blinker fluid. :-)
