Default gas gauge doesnt work

My gas gauge is stuck on full. It sat for over a year while I was working on it and I recently had to change the fuel pump because it wasn't sending enough pressure. I'm assuming its either the float, sending unit or the wires. Is there any tests I can do to better diagnose the problem?

check your grounds. is it way past full? that usually indicates a ground problem.

Mine is digital so it's a bar thing. But that sounds like a winner.

yeah not familiar with the digital gauge. but having owned a bunch of 80s s10s and k5 blazers over full was always the ground, if the gauge was just stuck and not moving it was the pink wire running inside the frame rail somewhere

the old fullsized trucks used to just corrode in the frame rail, you could just look at the wire and see it was all green and nasty. the grounds i believe are their own wire, like they bolt to the top of the tank and go to the body or frame. to test the sending unit you have to do a ohm test on it but i forget the exact details on how to do it, its been like 12 years since ive done one
