Default hard start, battery?

Let me start by saying I know very little about electrical components lol.

but I went to start my blazer today, and like always, it's been a tad hard to start if it hasn't been driven for a day or so. well, i go and start it and it starts, but then stalls a few seconds later. After 2 starts it's perfect.

When I start it though, and I think it's fine, I put it in reverse and it will stall usually, unless i sit for about 15 secods and give it gas and the rpms stabalize.

well, I bet you're wondering why this is in the electrical area, it's because about every other time it stalls out, the dash goes blank. The lights that should be on, are completely off, and (it usually makes a sound with key in the ignition) there is no sound. EXACTLY like when your battery is dead. I know I need new terminals, but do you think they're the problem for this? I bought new wires with terminals attached to put on this weekend to see if this helps. My other thought is to replace the fuel filter and fuel pump.....

Battery is brand new btw.

Can anyone help? =(
