AGar wont bite you they are mostly extinct now due to persucution.Its the snakes and the snappers that are scarry.I got bit by something once not sure what it was never seen just felt a big sting sensation.I leather gloves and it left no teeth marks.I figure it was probaly water moccasin.I got bit by a snapper that wouldnt let go had to cut inbetween its jaw and my finger to get it off.

 

Those stupid Gar ain't extinct here... I hate them bastages.

 

The prehistoric aligator gar in the south are about gone.In Texas especialy on the trinity river outside of Dallas the have been persecuted to the point very few exsist.There are several types of gar.Spotted gar which is common,blue backs.The spotted gar get very large which anglers down south target with Bow and reel.The blue backs dont get very big.We have some species of gar here in michigan but they are hardly a threat to anything.The Tiger Muskies and Northerns are fish that are targetted among many fisher folks up here.I personaly hate them they eat all our trout and perch.

 

they are everywhere here. but ive never caught one. I kinda want too for the heck of it.
