went out rideing today now that i have enof snow lol i have a 85 formula mx btw but i was out rideing it was running like a champ and as i was on my way back to my house im running down the side of the tracks doin bout 45-50 at 4000 rpm and it just dies on me about a mile away from my house on a cold windy day. still pulls over but wont even try to start and no im not out of gas i have a half a tank in it but idk what the hell could be wrong with it and its still up by the tracks its spending the night there my buddy and i are going to go get it tomorrow but talk about a bad frist run of the year

 

that sucks man. friend called me last week,his rock crawler he built,blew the transmission after driving it for 15 minutes.

 

thats a bumer what i dont get tho is i started rideing at about 6-630 in the morning and stoped around noon for a half hour to eat lunch then hoped back on and rode some more and it didnt die till about 5 in the affternoon ran great intill it died

 

sounds like it lost spark,or the carb has something clogged up.

 

possibly built up ice from the gas? Did you fill it from gas cans that sat around for awhile? I know that happened to my dirt bike when I took it through the snow, a little bit of water hydrolyzed in the gas and froze over time.

 

i got it home yesterday it lost spark but i hit the ciol and it started working again rode all day yesterday no problems so i think i should replace the coil caps and plugs anyway

 

Thats not a bad first ride of the year . My friends went to tug hill NY Saterday night , I was not there but from what I'm told he some how got ejected from his sled and got ran over by other sleds . Its crazy hes the same age as me , a pro rider in the gncc / wynoa harescrambles , and he's gone . Now thats a bad day , so please be careful out there . Its sad to think about he was a real good guy .
