Recession caused by too many loans??

So then we give people credit for their old stuff and let them get new loans???

Idk, but a big *stereotype* (sorry) would be that the people so unhappy with their "beaters" trade them in for a newer car... many over 14k... so lets see
14000-4500=9500

Now if people weren't paying off loans before, wouldn't a bunch of 10k loans just be like before only smaller loans???

idk... just a random 2:36 am thought

sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Destroying the motor or drivetrain or whatever seems like a complete waste, There are a LOT of blazers that will be destroyed and as said above it will hurt some businesses. Is this the "change" he always talked about?

Sorry.. I had to... another crazy late night thought...

But the blazer I am trying to get tomorrow needs a center console lid... now how many perfectly good ones will get destroyed because of this program?? WAY TOO MANY!!! SAVE OUR CHEVYS

more than likely none of the console lids will be destroyed...the program requires that the drive train be disabled and shredded, but other parts that dont include the drive train may be sold as previously stated in this thread. you can also verify this information at cars.gov.

I did not say it was a gas mileage problem, I just said they had the 18MPG problem. A lot of cars 10 years ago in the UK did not get 30+MPG, where as most normal family cars will get 30+MPG and with diesels being on the same par or better then petrols for acceleration and top speed, but getting between 40 and 60MPG, the british gov want people to buy diesels or hybrids.

Don't think it's all fun and MPG over there. The road tax you pay in the UK is stupid, petrol is off the chart and our car prices are f***ed up!

USA
Mini Cooper $18,500 with 32MPG combined doing 12,000 miles a year with plate licence, for Arizona, would equal $937.50 for the fuel and $322 for plate licence. Total $1259.50.

UK
Mini Cooper £13,715 with 40MPG combined doing 12,000 miles a year with road tax for the UK would equal £1425 for fuel and £120 for road tax. Total. £1545

Make them both the same currency at todays rate:
USA: £11,720 or $19,759.5
UK: £15,260 or $25,725

The cost of running the Mini in the UK will not change but the price of running the Mini in the US will go down.

Thats just a cheap car, if you look at bigger cars the difference can be $20,000 on the price of the car alone.

Ford Mustang: $20,995 in the USA. In the UK £34,500 thats over $58,000 and to keep the Mustang on the road in the UK will cost you over $600 in tax alone. Na, you got it right, ok so you use more fuel but in the long run ....you decide

Ok... idk how their mini cooper gets 8 more mpg... but take into consideration this....

How many people are in England?
How many people are in USA?

How big is England?
How big is USA?

Now... England has much fewer people and much fewer area, thus making a higher tax more plausible because they need the extra income, whereas ours can be much lower because of the massive amount of people paying into it....

Also Gas is cheap here because we are neighboring countries with are biggest importer... CANADA ***Fact from Engineering Chemistry... Love College...
