Default Isuzu Trooper ?

I'm looking into an AWD Isuzu Trooper all Wheel drive with manual shift, My '96 Blazer blew the engine in October

I went to the Isuzu Forums and Trail forums, and like here, a lot of good info and tips & tricks too. Apparently it is a pretty tough little guy. In the forums I found ideas for switching out my V-6 Vortec and also the G-80 rear diff. Further they said that many parts could be switched wit parts from a Gen II S-10 Blazer or s-10 pickck up.

I'm still learning my way over there. I have a question for our BF traqilriders here. Have any of you guys owned, driven or know someone that does have one of these little beasts?

1996 V-6 Manual shift with "4WD on the fly." 267k on the odometer

Any and all info is appreciated. Thanx

I had an 87. They were a lot more spartan in those years. No power under the hood at all with the 4cyl but built like a tank. The 96 is a bit more refined. I had 225k on mine and it probably would have gone over 300 easily.

Thanx Joe. By all accounts I hear these little guys are all about performance and not too much on flash. This is the only one i have ever seen with a torn seat.

I had a 1991 with the 2.8 TBI GM engine. I think it had about 180,000 miles on it when it finally died. Good running truck, 20-21 mpg consistently. I used it for an every day back and forth to work winter beast. Started having electrical problems. Back in that era the factory decided that exhaust manifold gaskets weren't needed, and it was common for excessive vibration to shear off the exhaust manifold bolts. I think that was part of the problem on mine, but at that point the truck wasn't worth putting any more money into. The body was shot, exhaust was shot, and the engine was tired. Was a fun, nimble little truck though. Paid a thousand dollars for it and drove it for five years, then sold it to some guy who drove by the house one day and inquired about it. He offered $400.00 but was only able to come up with $250.00. Was just happy to get it out of my driveway.

Im Looking at this one at twice Kelly BB.The seller has it listed at $1500 but he keeps dumping money into it. After installing the second compressor he got a third. He was wavering at $1200 before. Now He is firm on $1500.

He came by last week to show me the newly non-working items. He said his son left the window down on DS door and the PowerWindows dont work or the rear lights and signals too.He should know he is never gonna get his Money back

Until I can find another 4WDStick,I guess Ill wait.
