All jeeps, and just about any solid front axle vehicle really, develop death wobble as parts wear. Just a side effect of how they are designed. Normally its minor on stock vehicles as there is not a lot of mass in the steering system. When you lift and add larger tires it add more mass and changes the geometry which in turn makes the whole system react much more violently. Its so common that steering stabilizers exist in the after market to correct it. I'm honestly surprised that its only now being really looked into by Congress.

chrysler designers are the biggest bunch of retards on the planet its really no surprise they screwed something else up. ive been a mechanic for a little over a year and it makes me sick to my stomach working on some of these cars how impossible and little thought there was when designing some of this stuff.

example. replaced a transmission in a 98 dakota. in order to remove the inspection shield... yes the inspection shield to remove the torque converter bolts you have to disconnect the engine from the motor mount brackets and lift the engine up and away according to alldata. glad i get paid by the hour.

and its not even the big stuff like that, every clip the latch is facing away from you. where theres bolts there should be studs, where there should be studs theres bolts lol. evil i tell ya

Yep sounds like Chrysler. Sebring batteries have to take off the wheel, intrepids have to jack it up to get to it. There is alot of more of F'ed up stories but they are low cost, very high maintenance cars. And the drunks that they allow working there must be allowed to develop them XD lol
