i have a (nitro) traxxas jato 3.3 (65-70 mph out the box) an a tmaxx 2.5r (35-40 mph) thay have been the best r/c i have ever had the jato will stand on the back wheels for a good 200 feet or more from the start with a good set of tires the tmaxx is 4 wheel drive an will stand on its back wheels for about 50 feet

Why don't you just ask the guy who has the mini 350 motor if you could by it? That would give you plenty of power

Nitro is not good for crawling. They can create these "massive" amounts of torque, but only at high rpm's. High rpm's mean high speed. If you keep you nitro engine under stress at low speeds there will be no air flowing over the engine and it will get too hot.
On the other hand, If you go electric, you will want to get a high turn motor (45-65 turns) and you really don't need to go over 6 cells (7.2v).
With a proper charger it should only take a 3000mah battery about 15 min. to charge. And it would run for well over an hour with the higher turn motor. With only a "stock" 27 turn motor it would still run for a good 25-30 min.
I have and have had just about everything. There are good points and bad points for every choice.
