ok so if i put a 2" body lift and 31" tires do i have anything to worry about as far as ride quality or rubbing? (i am a lifelong colorado mountain diehard and want it to be capable on "the good trails")

With a 2' BL and 31s on stock rims, you might rub on the frame at full lock, but you shouldn't really have a problem cept for low speed parking lot manuevers. The only driveability issue is that a large portion of the vehicle's weight is now 2' higher, so you'll have to adjust to high speed corners/exit ramps. Nothing too different about it though really, those are just the technical differences.
Also one correction to Drifter666...the 30x9.5s will fit fine on stock rims with no rubbing/steering problems. Also the ZR2 has deeper fender wells to help with the 31x1050s clearing, and the axle tract is 100 mm wider, or ~2' wider on each side.
As for your lift, I think the best bet would be to get you a pair of 2' lift shackles for the rear, and adjust your Tbars upfront. This will give you a stiffer ride offroad (better, I think), and it's about the quickest lift you can do. Search tbar lift or torsion bar lift for info on the negatives of this method. This will let you clear 31x1050s.

Thanks Wolf! i think im leaning toward the shackles and torsion option..i don't like the idea of the high center of gravity on a 13,000 foot knife edge

sorry for all the questions... I've seen mention on some of the available lift kits that the rear bumper will no longer be good for towing, is this in reference to THE BUMPERor THE TOW HITCH?

Welcome!
Although you are getting some answers here, this is more for new members to introduce themselves and tell us a little about their trucks.
Please post in the appropriate section for specific questions. For example, your question about the bumper's functionality with a body lift would be a question better asked in this forum.
Welcome again and yes, we are a picture-greedy forum!
