Thanks for the compliments! The last thing I have to tackle is the stereo. The stock Delco sounds just fine to these old ears, when the speakers are all operative. I replaced the fronts with stock 4x6 Delco speakers. They now sound good. The rears however, are a different story. The cone foam is gone from both of them. When I pulled the door panels off to check them, the foam dropped to the floor in little dry rotted piles. The paper cones and coils are good, it's just the foam that went south.

I will be re-foaming those cones as soon as my new foams come in, which incidentally will be today. I will also post that project (with pictures) in the audio section as soon as I start that venture later today.

I would invite you to start a "build" thread if you would like to chronicle your repairs.

And what a find. Beautiful 1st gen. Even nice then my own ride.
Keep it out of salt on the roads and it will last another 25 years.

Thanks for the compliment! Although it was originally purchased to be my winter driver, I now have no intention of running this truck through the salt. That unsavory position has been reassigned to my 2003 Suburban 4x4. The Blazer will stay tucked away dry all winter long.

Wow, what a nice clean Blazer. I can’t believe that this truck was going to get scrapped or parted. I love rehabilitating old things, good luck with that super clean find

Thanks George! I can't believe it either. I'm just thankful that I was in the right place at the right time!
