Default Hello all

Howdy everyone. Judging by my username if you'd guess I'm in the process of restoring a car, then you're right. But that's a little different from what I'm doing here and now. I recently picked up a turbo350 trans from an old K5 Blazer for 25 whole dollars. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have found it. Short story is, the seller was moving and he just wanted it gone.

Anyway, I came here looking for discussions on transmission related issues, maintenance, and possibly help with a rebuild. The main problem I've run into with the trans is that this th350 is 4wd. I need to do a conversion to 2wd, if that's even possible. The reason that I'm doing this instead of keeping it ready for a Tcase, is because I'm putting this and my 307 small block in a John Deere hydro 175 ride on mower. The only info I've found through Google is that the 'K' case 350 is a reinforced case. But anyway, I have time to work on it, so I'm not in a rush. Anyway, I look forward to meeting some of you guys here, and have a good day.

To convert it to a 2WD, you'll need to change the tailshaft, which requires complete transmission disassembly. You might as well rebuild the whole thing at that time.

Personally, I'd build a 4WD riding mower.
