Default Heyo!

Hi, the name is James(But you can just call me Torb or Torbinator), I am 18. I enjoy to work on my car whenever possible. I live in Hoptown Kentucky, looking to go to TCAT for Automotive technology this year when I graduate.

I own a 2001 GMC Jimmy 2dr RWD. Its my first manual vehicle and I have loved driving it even tho it lacks 4x4... I certainly wish I had a 4x4 vehicle to be able to drive on more than just the pavement but this vehicle was only $700 and only has 118k miles with a strong motor. It has some minor problems but what vehicle doesn't have problems? This vehicle was bought out of panic when my Pontiac G6 started having multiple issues at 165k. Its garaged and probably will be until this vehicle eats the dust. What else can I add... Oh, I currently work a part time job at Wendys, so my income is very minimal but whenever I have some extra money (Besides what im saving for college) I would like to do some cheap things for the Jimmy, so I am certainly hoping I can find some cool cheap mods if I dig deeper into these forums.

Currently in the 2 months I've owned it, I have added 2" lift shackles to it and have put on a Flowmaster 40 series muffler. May have put in a 12" sub as well...

Ive been on these forums for only like 2 months now but id like to be more involved so thought id start with a new member post. I'll most likely start a build thread just to see how I progress with my vehicle over time but for the time being I cant see any major changes to it with my current income.

Thanks for reading y'all!

That's still a good score for 700, and the fender is easily replaceable from a scrapyard(cheap). Looks good and welcome to the forum

What he said. There are probably a million white fenders in junkyards. It'll look good as new.

Surprisingly I havent been able to find any Blazers or Jimmys that still have a front end around here. Keeping my eye out for one but havent had any luck so far. Still hoping maybe when I do find it one day I'll also find a blazer front end and/or a spare tire holder for the rear.

Yeah, buffing with a peening hammer will help in the process.
I like your approach
