Might want to pick up the cheap door spring tool ( think I got mine at O’Rilleys for like 5$). Getting the spring out fairly easy with a heavy flat screwdriver but putting it back after changing the hinge pins is a pain. I tried several of the online tricks like zip ties, wire, even a lifter spring tool I had...all failed. Got the cheap looking tool and installed in a min. Maybe you can just “barrow or rent one”? Anyway worth the trouble, mine opens/closes like new.
